October 16th, 2012, Hefei-Huainan-Bengbu high-speed railway, as well as Huainan East Stationofficially started its operation. The main supporting projects of this high-speed rail station were undertaken by the CPCG, including Station Square, Waterfront Park, underground parking garage, underground shopping malls and Chaoyang East Road, which connects downtown and high-speed rail station, (actual completion is about 700 million Yuan, Station Square and the road section). Hefei-Huainan-Bengbu Passenger Dedicated Lines, starting from the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway at Bengbu South Station in North, to Hefei railway hub in South, is an important connecting rail line of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail and Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdupassenger dedicated line, which is also an important part of the Passenger Dedicated Lines from Beijing to Fuzhou. It is currently the highest operating speed of high-speed rail connecting line in China, even in the world.
